Learn about the writing of HOLOFORM

This series started as a dream, literally. The character Chen appeared to me in a dream and said he was part of a group of humans that was going to merge with an alien holographic life form. I thought that's interesting and made a few notes that night. I started writing the next day and have been working on the series ever since.
Star Trek was my favorite TV show in my teens and my Saturday morning TV favorites included Hopalong Cassidy, Roy Rogers and the Lone Ranger. All these shows were weekly episodes some with cliffhangers and that's how the HOLOFORM story came to me, as installments that I wrote and published separately each with a cliffhanger. I loved reading science fiction as a kid. Arthur C. Clark, Frank Herbert, Philip K. Dick and Isaac Asimov were among my favorite writers.
I often wondered how did they write the dialogue. How could they just sit down and write imaginary conversations? Once I started writing the stories and created images of each character in my mind, I could place them in a situation and just listen to them talk. The trick was to write the conversations down in my composition notebook before I forgot them. I always played sports growing up and conditioning was a large part of preparing - lots and lots of running. Running was great for thinking things through and now I use treadmills. Something about putting the body in automatic allowed my mind to process things I had been working on. Now I get inspiration for the HOLOFORM stories on my favorite treadmill at the gym. Out of the blue a plot detail or twist will come to me. It has taken on a life of its own and often I see the story develop like a movie playing in my mind's eye. For me, it's like I'm chronicling the lives of four good friends.
My favorite contemporary writers include Haruki Murakami and Martha Wells. I love the way Murakami blends magical realism and ghosts into his fiction as in his Trilogy of the Rat and SecUnit's opinions of humans in Wells' Murderbot Diaries. Readers of those books will I hope enjoy the HOLOFORM Series but I can guarantee there will be ghosts in the upcoming Book 7. In college I studied chemistry, biology, literature and archaeology. I enjoy writing science fiction because it gives me the opportunity to blend real science into my stories and I hope inspire others to explore the wonders of science.
An alien species became holographs after their planet experienced a catastrophic event. Now they want to experience human sensations. Fifty humans go to the alien planet in exchange for one ET. Enjoy the adventures as Hollie an alien and three human friends Sasha, Chen and Lalo time travel, rebuild civilizations and travel through space learning about the cosmos and themselves.
